A beautiful Saturday afternoon and the 1st were away to Pinner and fully pumped up after losing the first game of the season to them back in May. Everyone was at the ground on time and after a good warm up, Niro won the toss and put the home side into bat.

Thiva and Zaid started well with the ball seaming and swinging all over the place. However little luck came in the first 10 overs and the Pinner openers began to settle. Zaid bowled excellently bamboozling the batmen’s and was very unlucky to not take a wicket. On another day he would have taken 4 or 5!!! Eventually though Thiva broke the deadlock with a great ball which was edge to second slip after a spectacular diving catch by the Skipper Niro in a goal keeper like fashion. The pinner overseas steadied the ship a little with a steady 50, but in the end a combination of tight bowling from Abdul and Milinder, the constant flow of wickets at regular intervals and ragu using his guile and turn to finish off the tail Pinner eventually bowled out for 197 in there 55 overs.

IN reply on what was an excellent batting wicket, MTSSC start badly with 2 quick wicket after loosing Harry and Niro cheaply after great bowling from the pinner openers swinging the ball like a banana. Buy Young gun Jenson showed maturity and more sign he is the future but caressing the ball to the boundary effortlessly. Him and Milinder had a great partnership before playing a bad shot and getting out 3 runs from his 1st first team 50. After loosing Thiva to a LBW Millinder and Sudip batted excellently bringing us only 25 runs from the target. There was a slight wobble after but in the end the boys finished the job with a brilliant 78 from Milinder to win the match.

Lets keep it up boys we will not go down!!!
