Another sunny afternoon in harrow but not good weather as far as playing is concerned. MTSSC were away to Old Lyonians and after winning the toss Niro put the opponents into bat.

Unfortunately the way the boys started really set the tone for the whole afternoon and although Asela took out both openers he was still expensive. A combination of inconsistent bowling, drop catches and miss fielding meant that the Old Lyonians batsmen were not pressures as they easily mopped up singles and hit the bad balls to the boundary. Due to a late surge from Raghu and Abdul we were able to bowl them out for 247 in only 46 over’s.

This gave out Boys some hope as we only need to bat out the remaining 54 over’s to ensure a victory and after a motivating speech by the captain, the boys were pumped up when raghu and Mustapha went to bat. Unfortunately though that was short lived as wickets tumbled right at the time when we thought we were in the game. Although there was a late surge from skipper
Niro and Yohan in the end the challenge of 7.5 runs an over became to high and both hauled out and MTSSC crashed out at 166 with 4 over’s remaining.

All in all a bad performance with the only real highlight being Raghus 5 wicket haul, let’s try to learn from our mistakes and it up next week boys!!!
