The 2013 Season

MTSSC had reasonable success in the 2013 season with the U10’s, U11’s and U17’s having a very good season and the U13 and U15’s having an average season.

The Under 10’s (both A and B team) had a good season which bodes well for the future of MTSSC cricket. Both teams finished 4th in their respective tables. The A team playing in the A division whilst the B team played amongst the B teams of the other clubs. It must be noted that our B team comprised mainly of boys from the under 9 age group. Below is the final league table.

The Under 11’s had their most successful season to date.  They won all their division 2 league matches and massed  the maximum of 100 points from their 10 league games. Below is the final league table. They also did well in the cup competition reaching the finals. The final was against Harrow St. Mary’s and even though the game was played at the MTSSC grounds, the U11’s failed to beat Harrow St Mary’s even though they gave a very good account of themselves.

The Under 13’s got off to a very slow start losing most of their matches. They however did end the season strongly by winning their last 3 games to end up with a mid table finish.

The under 15’s like the under 13’s had a very average season. They too won just 3 games but did accumulate enough bonus points to end up mid table.

The under 17’s gave a good account of themselves finishing 3rd in division 1. They could have even won the league had they not thrown away the matches against Eastcote and Stanmore. They had good success in the cup competition too getting to the quarter finals where they lost to Hillingdon Manor.

The 2010 Season

The 2010 season was by far the most sucessfull season in the MTSSC Colts short history. The club first started out by entering an under 10 team for the very first time. Not only did the boys finish third in the league, of the 5 matches that they played they won 3 lost 1 and tied 1. The club also entered the Eastcote under 10 festival and the team finished as deserved winners of the plate final. So all in all a very sucessful first year for the under 10’s. Their hard work has been rewarded by gaining promotion to the A League for the 2011 season.

The under 11’s once again had another sucessful year by winning their division for the second year running. This is a truly remarkable achivement for the boys to win their division in only the first year in that division. The efforts of the under 11’s have also been recognised by the league by promoting them to division 2 for the 2011 season.

When you thought that the under 13’s could not improve on their 2009 season they not only go and win their league for the second consecutive year but win it without losing a single match. They played a total of 8 matches and won 7 with 1 match being abandoned due to bad weather. We had a string of half centuries this year by Beeshman Mahen, Seerone Kandasamy & Dilshan Peerez. Their efforts too have been rewarded by obtaining promotion to division 2 for 2011.

The under 15’s had a bright start to their season by comfortably winning their first few matches However they lost their way slightly towards the end of the season. The unexpected home defeat to Hayes whilst being in a strong position meant that they finished 3rd in the league behind West Harrow and Hayes. However as the under 13’s won their league the league organisers have decided to promote the under 15’s to division 2 for the 2011 season.

Even though the club enters a team for the under 17 league each year the team struggles due to the GCSE exam. This year was no different. Many of the games had to be played with the under 15 boys and we ended up finishing 4th in the under 17 league.

So all in all a very sucessful 2010 season for the MTSSC colts. The under 10’s being promoted to the A League after their first year and the under 11’s, 13’s and 15’s being promoted to division 2 for the 2011 season. This is the first time that any MTSSC colts team has played in division 2. So not just 1 team but 3 teams will be playing in division 2 for 2011 which is a very special achievement.

Please see the 2010 menu option within the Past Season for details on the league tables for each age group.

The 2009 Season

The 2009 cricket season was the turning point in terms of sucess  in the MTSSC’s colts’ short history with both the under 11 and under 13 teams winning their respective divisions. As a result of this the under 11 and under 15 teams gained promotion to a higher division. The under 15 team finished 3rd in their division.

This year also saw 2 special achievements by 2 members of the under 11 team. Rishi Premnath was the first MTSSC colt to score 50 runs in an MCA League 20 over match whilst Sayjohn Ragudasan was the first MTSSC colt to take a hat trick in an MCA League 20 over match. Sachin Manoraj also had his first 5 wicket haul this season.
