MTSSC under 10s team begins with a realistic win over Stanmore. Stanmore won the toss and elected to bat in perfect ‘cricket weather’. The openers struggled to score during the first four overs though they kept an average of 3 and losing a wicket in the 3rd over. In the middle overs, Daniel bowled 2 accurate overs conceding 2 runs and Rishan’s maiden effort for a hat-trick kept the run rate below 4. The last pair of Nathan and Jonathan scored quick boundaries to raise the Stanmore score to 80.
MTSSC started steadily against Stanmore and lost a wicket in the 3rd over. The second pair of Daniel and Dharshan smashed 27 runs in four overs which was the highest partnership of the match. Daniel’s confident knock which included 5 fours accelerated the score. Though MTSSC lost 3 wickets in the in the last 8 overs, the last pair of Rishan and Purushot kept an average of 6 runs an over. For MTSSC Hugo and Jake bowled reasonably well but they were unable to stop the MTSSC batsmen scoring quick runs.
